BREMEN, April 24, 2019 – Werder Bremen and AIONSPORTS, a Dutch sportstech start-up, have announced a partnership around virtual reality. In the upcoming month, Werder Bremen will be entering a testing phase for working with this emerging technology, whereas implementation of the system into the regular training schedule will follow soon.
AIONSPORTS’ technology is based on real match data and enables professional football clubs to analyse and create scenarios based on a certain game-plan. These scenarios can be used for virtual reality training sessions. Instead of using normal analysis tools, AIONSPORTS offers analysis in first-person view, giving clients new ground-breaking insights.
‘’The integration of this cutting-edge technology is a big step forward for Werder Bremen, and we are looking forward to seeing the first results,’’ says Mario Baric, Head of Analysis at Werder Bremen. ‘’To stay up to date with the newest technologies, we have made a plan to implement new sportstech products, once proven beneficial. AIONSPORTS proved just that.’’
‘‘We’re incredibly proud that we can work together with such a big club in Germany. Werder Bremen is innovative, successful, and respected. I’m convinced that we can contribute to both the development of their youth system, and first team analysis,’’ says Mark Snijders, Director Sports of AIONSPORTS.
